'Receive' the Holy Spirit?

in John 20:22

In Greek, Take and Receive are the same word.

for example

 'Take' the bread and the wine

or

'Receive' the bread and the wine

The word for 'Receive' in John 20:22 is used 7 times in the Bible.

Matt 26:26

Mark 14:22

Luke 22:17

John 18:31

John 19:6

John 20:22

James 5:10

Every other time it is used, it is translated as 'Take'

Take and Receive are not always interchangeable words

Eg 'Take' him away is not the same as 'Receive' him away

What is the context of John 20:22

Jesus had risen from the grave and appeared to the disciples.

He said to them "Peace be with you"

"As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."

"Take the Holy Spirit (with you)"

"Whoever you forgive, I also forgive."

This is a restatement of the Great Commission

I give to you the keys of the Kingdom, whoever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whoever you loose on earth will be loose in heaven.  Matt 16:19

"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  Mark 16:15-16

Luke 24 refers the same event

There is no mention of the disciples receiving the Spirit. 

In fact, Jesus tells the disciples to stay in Jerusalem until they had been clothed with power from on high: the promised Holy Spirit.

This is restated by Luke in Acts 1

The disciples were Baptized in the Holy Spirit at Pentecost

Acts 2

Jesus told the disciples that the Holy Spirit would be given to the believers later.  First he had to be Glorified.  John 7:39 

 This did not happen until after Christ ascended.  Luke 24:49-51
