sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems,
according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And
God saw that it was good.

road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed
for battle.

into the sea. The best of Pharaoh's officers are drowned in the Red
Sea.

up. The surging waters stood firm like a wall; the deep waters congealed in
the heart of the sea.

covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

living in the valleys, turn back tomorrow and set out toward the desert
along the route to the Red Sea."

to the Red Sea, to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on

toward the desert along the route to the Red Sea."

desert along the route to the Red Sea, as the LORD had directed me.
For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir.
Deuteronomy 3:17 Its western border was the Jordan in the
Arabah, from Kinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea
), below the slopes of Pisgah.

horses and chariots, how he overwhelmed them with the waters of the Red

them.
Deuteronomy 11:24 Every place where you set your foot will
be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from
the Euphrates River to the western sea.
Deuteronomy 30:13 Nor is it beyond the sea, so that
you have to ask, "Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to
us so we may obey it?"
Deuteronomy 34:2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim
and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the western
sea,
Joshua 1:4 Your territory will extend from the desert to
Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates--all the Hittite
country--to the Great Sea on the west.
Joshua 2:10 We have heard how the LORD dried up the water
of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did
to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you
completely destroyed.
Joshua 3:16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It
piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the
vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the
Arabah (the Salt Sea ) was completely cut off. So the people crossed
over opposite Jericho.
Joshua 4:23 For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan
before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan
just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us
until we had crossed over.
Joshua 9:1 Now when all the kings west of the Jordan heard
about these things--those in the hill country, in the western foothills, and
along the entire coast of the Great Sea as far as Lebanon (the kings
of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites)--
Joshua 12:3 He also ruled over the eastern Arabah from the
Sea of Kinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea
), to Beth Jeshimoth, and then southward below the slopes of Pisgah.
Joshua 13:27 and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah,
Succoth and Zaphon with the rest of the realm of Sihon king of Heshbon (the
east side of the Jordan, the territory up to the end of the Sea of
Kinnereth).
Joshua 15:2 Their southern boundary started from the bay
at the southern end of the Salt Sea,
Joshua 15:4 It then passed along to Azmon and joined the
Wadi of Egypt, ending at the sea. This is their southern boundary.
Joshua 15:5 The eastern boundary is the Salt Sea as
far as the mouth of the Jordan. The northern boundary started from the bay
of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan,
Joshua 15:11 It went to the northern slope of Ekron,
turned toward Shikkeron, passed along to Mount Baalah and reached Jabneel.
The boundary ended at the sea.
Joshua 15:12 The western boundary is the coastline of the
Great Sea. These are the boundaries around the people of Judah by
their clans.

villages; and Gaza, its settlements and villages, as far as the Wadi of
Egypt and the coastline of the Great Sea.

Japhletites as far as the region of Lower Beth Horon and on to Gezer, ending

Micmethath on the north it curved eastward to Taanath Shiloh, passing by it
to Janoah on the east.
Joshua 16:8 From Tappuah the border went west to the Kanah
Ravine and ended at the sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of
the Ephraimites, clan by clan.
Joshua 17:9 Then the boundary continued south to the Kanah
Ravine. There were towns belonging to Ephraim lying among the towns of
Manasseh, but the boundary of Manasseh was the northern side of the ravine
and ended at the sea.
Joshua 17:10 On the south the land belonged to Ephraim, on
the north to Manasseh. The territory of Manasseh reached the sea and
bordered Asher on the north and Issachar on the east.
Joshua 18:19 It then went to the northern slope of Beth
Hoglah and came out at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the mouth
of the Jordan in the south. This was the southern boundary.
Joshua 19:29 The boundary then turned back toward Ramah
and went to the fortified city of Tyre, turned toward Hosah and came out at
the sea in the region of Aczib,

came to the sea, and the Egyptians pursued them with chariots and

them and covered them. You saw with your own eyes what I did to the
Egyptians. Then you lived in the desert for a long time.

sea, and I will float them in rafts by sea to the place you

1 Kings 7:23-45 He made the Sea of cast metal,
circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits
high. It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it.
Below the rim, gourds encircled it--ten to a cubit. The gourds were cast in
two rows in one piece with the Sea. The Sea stood on
twelve bulls, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south and
three facing east. The Sea rested on top of them, and their
hindquarters were toward the center. It was a handbreadth in
thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It
held two thousand baths. He also made ten movable stands of
bronze; each was four cubits long, four wide and three high.
This is how the stands were made: They had side panels attached to uprights.
On the panels between the uprights were lions, bulls and cherubim--and on
the uprights as well. Above and below the lions and bulls were wreaths of
hammered work. Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles,
and each had a basin resting on four supports, cast with wreaths on each
side. On the inside of the stand there was an opening that had a
circular frame one cubit deep. This opening was round, and with its basework
it measured a cubit and a half. Around its opening there was engraving. The
panels of the stands were square, not round. The four wheels were
under the panels, and the axles of the wheels were attached to the stand.
The diameter of each wheel was a cubit and a half. The wheels were
made like chariot wheels; the axles, rims, spokes and hubs were all of cast
metal. Each stand had four handles, one on each corner, projecting
from the stand. At the top of the stand there was a circular
band half a cubit deep. The supports and panels were attached to the top of
the stand. He engraved cherubim, lions and palm trees on the
surfaces of the supports and on the panels, in every available space, with
wreaths all around. This is the way he made the ten stands.
They were all cast in the same molds and were identical in size and shape.
He then made ten bronze basins, each holding forty baths and measuring four
cubits across, one basin to go on each of the ten stands. He placed five of
the stands on the south side of the temple and five on the north. He placed
the Sea on the south side, at the southeast corner of the temple. He
also made the basins and shovels and sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished all
the work he had undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of the LORD:
the two pillars; the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the two
sets of network decorating the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the
pillars; the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of network
(two rows of pomegranates for each network, decorating the bowl-shaped
capitals on top of the pillars); the ten stands with their ten basins;
the Sea and the twelve bulls under it; the pots, shovels and
sprinkling bowls. All these objects that Huram made for King Solomon for the
temple of the LORD were of burnished bronze.

stops you.'"
2 Kings 14:25 He was the one who restored the boundaries
of Israel from Lebo Hamath to the Sea of the Arabah, in accordance

Sea.

placed five on the south side and five on the north. In them the things to
