When Jesus returns at the end of the Great
Tribulation, the dead and living in Christ will be called up to be with him in
the clouds. (First Resurrection)
Those who are left on Earth are called the Nations and will be non-believers who
are not born again and do not have the Spirit of God. They will be divided
into the Sheep and the Goats on the Day of the Lord.
The
Dead who did not take
part in this First Resurrection
(ie unbelievers) will be resurrected at the end of the Millennium to
be judged at the Great White Throne.
Those whose names are
not written in the Lamb's book of life will die a second death in the Lake of
Fire. Death itself will also be thrown into the Lake of Fire.
Satan gets thrown into
the Lake of fire. The antichrist and the false prophet gets thrown into
the Lake of fire.
The believers who took
part in the first resurrection descend from heaven as the Bride of Christ to
become the New Jerusalem.
Those who are not
condemned at the Great White Throne become the Nations.

ON THE DAY OF THE LORD,
CHRIST WILL LEAD THE ARMIES OF HEAVEN TO JUDGE THE NATIONS ON THE EARTH
Isaiah 13:1-11 An oracle concerning Babylon
that Isaiah son of Amoz saw:
Raise a banner on a bare hilltop, shout to them; beckon to them to enter the
gates of the nobles. I have commanded my holy ones; I have summoned my
warriors to carry out my wrath-- those who rejoice in my triumph.
Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great
multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together!
The LORD Almighty is mustering an army for war. They come from faraway lands,
from the ends of the heavens-- the LORD and the weapons of his wrath-- to
destroy the whole country. Wail, for
the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.
Because of this, all hands will go limp, every man's heart will melt.
Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a
woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame.
See, the day of the LORD is coming --a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger--
to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it.
Revelation 7:9-17
After this I looked and there before me
was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people
and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were
wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
Jude 1:14-15
Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied
about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his
holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly
acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly
sinners have spoken against him."

AT THE END OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION, A GREAT
MULTITUDE IN HEAVEN SHOUTS GODS PRAISE
Revelation 19:1-6 After
this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting:
"Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our
God, for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of
his servants." And again they shouted: "Hallelujah! The smoke from her
goes up for ever and ever." The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures
fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried:
"Amen, Hallelujah!" Then a voice came from the throne, saying: "Praise our God,
all you his servants, you who fear him, both small and great!" Then I heard what
sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud
peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
THEN COMES THE WEDDING OF THE BRIDE AND THE
LAMB
Revelation 19:7-10 Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready. Fine
linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the
righteous acts of the saints.) Then the angel
said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of
the Lamb!'" And he added, "These are the true words of God." At
this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a
fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of
Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
THIS IS FOLLOWED BY THE JUDGMENT UPON THE
NATIONS AND THE DEFEAT OF THE BEAST (WHICH IS THE ANTICHRIST) AND THE FALSE
PROPHET WHO ARE THROWN INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE
Revelation 19:11-21 I saw heaven standing open
and there before me was a white horse,
whose rider is called Faithful and True.
With justice he judges and makes war.
His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many
crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his
name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven
were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and
clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike
down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."
He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God
Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun,
who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather
together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings,
generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all
people, free and slave, small and great." Then I saw the
beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war
against the rider on the horse and his army. But
the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the
miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who
had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.
The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of
burning sulfur. The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out
of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on
their flesh.
THE MILLENNIUM STARTS, SATAN IS THROWN INTO
THE ABYSS WHERE HE IS LOCKED UP AND KEPT FROM DECEIVING THE NATIONS FOR A
THOUSAND YEARS
Revelation 20:1-6 And I saw an angel
coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a
great chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil,
or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He threw him into the Abyss,
and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations
anymore until the thousand years were ended. After
that, he must be set free for a short time. I saw thrones on
which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the
souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and
because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and
had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life
and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The
rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.)
This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who have
part in the first resurrection. The second death
has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will
reign with him for a thousand years.
The
second death is the punishment for those who are judged at the Great White
Throne at the end of the Millennium.
THE DEVIL IS THROWN INTO THE LAKE
OF FIRE AT THE END OF THE THOUSAND YEARS AFTER BEING ALLOWED TO CAUSE TROUBLE
FOR THE NATIONS FOR A SHORT TIME
Revelation
20:7-10 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be
released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in
the four corners of the earth--Gog and Magog--to gather them for battle.
In number they are like the sand on the seashore.
They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's
people, the city he loves. But fire came down
from heaven and devoured them. And the devil,
who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast
and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for
ever and ever.
Note: the nations are
still present on the earth during the millennium and some are also referred to
as 'God's People'. This is the reverse of chapter 19 where the armies of
heaven dressed in clean white linen riding white horse and lead by the Word of
God come to judge and strike down the nations.
AT THE END OF THE MILLENNIUM THE DEAD ARE RAISED FOR JUDGMENT AT
THE GREAT WHITE THRONE - THIS
IS THE SECOND RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD
Revelation 20:11-15 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on
it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were
opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were
judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and
death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was
judged according to what he had done.
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.
The lake of fire is the second death.
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of
life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
The believers are called up to be with
Christ in the clouds at the beginning of the millennium / end
of the Great Tribulation. This is the first
resurrection of the dead. Living non believers are
judged shortly after this; before the Millennium starts (Sheep and Goats).
Dead non
believers are raised at the end of the millennium to be judged. This is
the second resurrection of the dead.
In
eternity, there is no more death or Hades as they have been thrown into the lake
of fire. The sea no longer exists either.
HELL (HADES) IS A TEMPORARY PLACE OF PUNISHMENT WHERE GOD PUTS
THOSE WHO ARE WAITING FOR JUDGMENT AT THE GREAT WHITE THRONE
2 Pet 2:4
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but
sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy
dungeons to be held for judgment;
2 Pet 2:9-22
if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly
men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while
continuing their punishment. This is
especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and
despise authority. Bold and arrogant,
these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings; yet even angels,
although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous
accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord. But these men
blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They
are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and
destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish. They will be paid back
with harm for the harm they have done. Their
idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes,
reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. With eyes full of
adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in
greed--an accursed brood! They have left the straight way and wandered off
to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness.
But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey--a beast without speech--who
spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness.
These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest
darkness is reserved for them. For they mouth empty, boastful words and,
by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people
who are just escaping from those who live in error.
They promise them freedom, while they themselves
are slaves of depravity--for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.
If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at
the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for
them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then
to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of
them the proverbs are true: "A dog returns to its vomit," and, "A sow that is
washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud."
THE LAKE OF FIRE IS THE SECOND
DEATH WHERE THE UNSAVED SPEND ETERNITY
Mat 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be
subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is
answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who
says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.
Mat 18:9 And if your eye causes
you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life
with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown
into the fire of hell.
Mark 9:43 If your hand causes you
to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two
hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes
out.
Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the
murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters
and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is
the second death."
Revelation 22:15
Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the
murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
