Is Revelation for real?
Part 1 of 2
Is Revelation for Real? Are the things mentioned in revelation really going to happen? |
How does Revelation differ from other books in the New Testament? ˘Revelation is a collection of prophesies about what must soon take place. ˘It contains many warnings and promises to guide and encourage us. ˘The prophesies were given to John in a series of visions which have lots of imagery and symbolism. ˘It is largely concerned with the future. ˘It deals with the second coming of Christ, His glorious reward for those who remain faithful, His awesome triumph over evil and Judgment upon the unrighteous. |
How will it help you? ˘It reassures us that God will eventually triumph over evil ˘It reassures us that God is in control ˘It gives us hope when we are going through difficult times ˘It prepares us for what is to come ˘It puts things in perspective ˘It helps us understand God’s eternal purpose and plan |
Why does it use so much symbolism? ˘God does not want to Reveal everything to us now ˘Some things must be kept hidden until the End Times and some things will not be revealed until we are in Heaven ˘God wants us to know in general, what is ahead but he doesn’t want to give names, places and dates just yet |
God works on a need to know basis Romans 16:25 Ephesians 3:9 Colossians 1:26 God Reveals things to us in his Good Time usually when we need to know |
Some things are not meant to be Revealed until the End Daniel 12:8-9 ˘I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?" ˘He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. |
